Med-Time Battery Issue

Dear Customer,

We would like to advise you of an issue with regard to your Med-Time Automatic Pill dispenser (“Med-Time”) part No. 1044 that has been identified to us by the Manufacturer. This issue is only related to Med-Time devices with serial numbers between 11275 and 11649. Please see the photo below to locate the serial number on the bottom of your electronic pill dispenser.

The issue specifically relates to the life of the battery within the device and that it may drain much faster than normal thereby reducing battery life (estimated life of battery is three to four weeks). As part of becoming aware of this, we are taking the appropriate action to make sure you have an operational device which will allow you or your patient to continue to be reminded of when to properly take medications.

We are expected to receive replacement Med-Time devices from the Manufacturer within the first two weeks of January 2014. Upon receipt we will be sending you a new Med-Time device which will replace the current device. As part of sending this new device, we will include simple instructions for returning the affected device at no cost to you.

In the meantime, we have enclosed two 4-pack AA battery packages. We ask that upon receipt of this that you replace the current batteries in your Med-Time device with a set of new batteries. After two weeks we ask that you replace the batteries again. While the manufacturer believes the battery life will be greater than two weeks we are asking you to change them after this two-week period to avoid any potential issues.

The procedure for changing batteries is as follows:
1. Remove the original batteries
2. Insert the new batteries as shown in the bottom of the battery compartment
3. If done without delay, the clock should still show the time as before.
4. If done with delay the clock should be set as described in the instructions.
